About the Band
Downshire Brass are based in South Belfast. The band was formed in 1990 by the amalgamation of the Hillsborough and Reid Memorial Silver bands and has entertained audiences both locally and internationally over the years. We are a band of enthusiastic amateur musicians who get together twice a week to make music and prepare for concerts, competitions recordings and broadcasts.
What we do
Downshire Brass perform concerts regularly throughout the year at various venues across Northern Ireland and enjoy continuing success in brass band competitions across the UK and Ireland. The band strives to include something for everyone in its musical repertoire, which ranges from traditional brass band marches, through ‘big band’, the classics and popular music.
